Smoothie bowls have suddenly become my newest passion in life. I can’t even believe it took me so long to finally make one. And now that I’ve started, I can’t stop! The combinations of ingredients and flavors are practically endless. Before we get too crazy though, I thought I’d share a simple base recipe to get us all into our green-smoothie-bowl groove.
I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love finding creative ways to sneak veggies into non-veggie dishes. A smoothie bowl is a great way to do that! Adding some leafies like spinach or kale gives smoothies such a bright and beautiful green color; it just makes me happy to look at while I eat it!
This basic green smoothie recipe is ridiculously delicious all on its own, but let’s be honest…we all know what turns a smoothie bowl into a SMOOTHIE BOWL is the toppings! That’s another wonderful thing about smoothie bowls; not only are the ingredient combos endless, so are the topping choices (as you can see from the photos)! You can easily make this simple recipe a healthy snack or a healthy meal just from what you choose to decorate it with. Some of my favorite toppings are peanut butter, fresh fruit and granola. Your smoothie bowl is your edible canvas – go with whatever your heart desires!
